Match 15: KXI v. RR: Yuvi Surprises Warne in a Low Scoring Match!

Another batting failure from Rajasthan Royals gave Yuvi's team winning points. The match was low scoring one but poor batting from Warne's team handed them a 27-run defeat.

Chasing 140 is not that difficult in T20 game, but for 2nd time, Rajasthan Royals have failed to chase moderate scores. Batting first, Goel was run out for a duck--his second in this season, in the very first ball of the innings.

Winning the toss and batting first, Bopara could not do much for Kings XI as he got out for 11 off 15 balls. The Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara stood at one end and kept the score moving. Yuvi got out for 2 and Jayawardene scored 7. Kings XI were struggling at 48 four 4 in 8.2 overs.

Irfan Pathan and Sangakkara started building the innings. They added 75 for the 5th wicket while taking their own time and pace to score runs. Pathan scored 39 including 2 sixes and 2 fours. Warne's leg spin bowling helped both the left handers as they scored 37 off his 4 overs.

Sangakkara scored 60 off 51 balls before getting run out in the last ball of the 19th over. He came in the 2nd ball of the innings after the fall of Goel and stayed till 19th over and rightly chosen for the Man of the Match award.

Kamaran Khan was once again the pick of the bowlers. He picked 2 wickets giving away 15 runs in his 4 overs.

With 140 as the target, Rajasthan Royals looked favorite winners of this match. The KXI surprised everyone picking the top 5 batsmen with just 36 on the board. RA Jadeja played singles and ensured that he did not lose his wicket. The last 10 overs required 92 runs with just 4 wickets in hand.

Both Warne and Jadeja were not able to improvise the run rate as there were no reliable wickets in hand. Though they hit hard boundaries and sixes, it was not enough for them to taste the victory. They ended with 112 on the board.

Match 11: KXI v. RC: Bopara Stars in XI's First Win! Praveen Messes it Up for RC!

What's happening in RC camp? Even Pietersen is not sure and that's why he said, "I don't know mate." They were better during the powerplay in the match against Kings XI Punjab. The match was almost in the hands of Royall Challengers until Bopara and Yuvaraj smashed the last few overs for important boundaries and sixes.

Earlier, RC reached their highest total of this season scoring 168. Once again, Kevin Pietersen fell for a duck. Ryder scored useful 32, while his other opening partner Uthappan scored a duck.

Kings XI scored their first win of this season losing both of their earlier matches under D/L Method due to rain. They lost it against Delhi and against Kolkata.

Bopara top scored with 84 off 59 balls and helped KXI register their first win in three matches. In the last 10 overs, KXI required 89 runs with 9 wickets in hand.

Kumble took the crucial wicket of Sangakkara for 26. Last 5 overs required 60 runs and the 16th over from Praveen Kumar in which Bopara scored all the 19 runs which changed the equation to 41 in 24 balls. Kallis bowled the 17th and gave 13 runs including two fours by Yuvaraj.

The last 18 balls required 28 runs. Ryder's over contributed 17 to the total which included 2 sixes by Bopara. The last 12 balls required 11 runs. Kallis provided break through by taking the wicket of Bopara, who did not read the slower ball and edges it to deep midwicket where Ryder took a sliding catch. But, the wicket came too late in the innings Yuvaraj scored a four and a six of the last ball of the over to give KXI their first winning point.

Earlier, for RC, though Uthappa was out for a duck, Kallis and Ryder consolidated the innings. They added 42 for the 2nd wicket in 25 balls, but both Ryder and Pietersen fell in the same over. Taylor contributed 35 and took the final score to 168. Abdulla picked 4 wickets while Irfan Pathan picked 3.

I don't fight with Girls: Sharukh Khan

In a chat with the private television channel anchor, Sharukh Khan said that he does not fight with girls. He mentioned that his son can fight, but not him. He can only hug and kiss them.

Mandira Bedi, one of the anchors of IPL in Set Max channel that broadcasts IPL season 2, asked Sharukh Khan on how he see the rivals Preity Zinta (owner of Kings XI Punjab) and Shilpa Shetty (owner of Rajasthan Royals). Sharukh replied smilingly, "I don't fight with girls. My son can. I can only love them, hug them and kiss them. In fact, all three of you (Preity Zinta, Shilpa and Manidera Bedi) were launched by me."

IPL Match 6: KKR v. KXI: Ganguly and Rain Spoil KXI!

What's happening to Yuvi and the Kings XI Punjab? The rain once again played a key role, though KKR had the advantage without rain as well.

The Duckworth-Lewis favored the 2nd playing team once again. Earlier, Kings XI scored 104 in rain delayed 12 overs match. After the first over of Delhi Daredevils innings, it rained. Duckworth-Lewis rules said that Delhi should score 54 in 6 overs. When the revised target was set, they were already at 15 for no loss.

Again, in this crucial match, with already one loss, Kings XI didn't have a good start after put into bat by KKR. Goel fell for duck in the 3rd over. Pathan hit quick 32 off 17 balls. He did what was expected of him. Sangakkar scored 26 and the skipper Yuvi scored 38 off 28. Pathan, Yuvi and Jayawardane did some firing, but that did not give a competitive total. The weather was not good and the rain was expected any time. KXI also lost wickets and they did not learn the lesson from the first match.

Ganguly struck twice in the same over--Irfan Pathan was brilliantly caught very close to the boundary line by Murali Karthik and couple of deliveries later, Bopara was caught behind, trying to cut the short ball.

Chasing 159, KKR started well with McCullum and Gayle smashing the ball for six and four. They reached 50 in the 6th over and did not lose a wicket. McCullum was caught behind off VS Malik. But, when rain stopped play in the 10th over, KKR had 79 for 1 in the scoreboard.

As per Duckworth-Lewis method, it is enough if they had 68 on the board, but they were ahead by 11 runs. Earlier, Goel missed an easy chance from Gayle when he was 2. In the fifth over, Gayle hit two fours and a six of Pathan which changed the match.

IPL Match 3: DD v. KXI: Vettori and Rain helps DD beat KXI

The rain disturbed match between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils ended in favor of Delhi, lead by Sehwag. The match started late due to rain and poor outfield conditions. The match was reduced to 12 overs a side and rightly Delhi decided to bowl after winning the toss. They knews that it is going to rain further.

One cannot blame Yuvaraj for what happened as it was completely out of his control. Nature has to be blamed rather than individuals. Bopara and Goel started well adding 67 in the first 6 overs. Goel hit 3 sixes and 3 fours in his 38. Yuvaraj hit 2 sixes in his 16. The last two overs really messed up KXI plans as they lost 4 wickets in the last 10 balls. They added just 6 runs and lost Yuvaraj, Jayawardane, Chawla (in the same over) and Irfan Pathan in the last ball of the innings.

Rain interuppted the play in the 2nd over Delhi innings at 15 for no loss. The match was later reduced to 6 overs and target was revised to 54. Delhi, with the Indian opening pair in the crease, did not find it difficult at all. The firing Sehwag contributed 38 off just 16 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes while Gambhir scored 15 off 13 balls with 2 fours.

Surely Yuvaraj was a disappointed with the result, especially the way that the match turned. The match was in favor of KXI during the first 10 overs of their innings, but after that, Vettori turned the match in favor of DD. He picked 3 wickets for 15 runs in his 3 overs. He took a catch and was involved in a run out.

Sreesanth to miss IPL 2!

Due to stress fracture of his back, Sreesanth, the aggressive Indian fast bowler, who is representing Kings XI lead by Yuvaraj Singh, may miss the IPL season 2.

He was the second highest wicket taker in IPL 1 with 19 wickets. "It is unfortunate that Sreesanth will not be participating in the season two due to his back injury," Punjab coach Tom Moody said. "He is a performer and was a great asset to the team last season and his absence on the field will surely be felt."

"I will be their motivator and will cheer them through to the IPL season two finals."

He was involved in the famous slapping incident with Harbhajan Singh after the match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians.
