Flintoff to Return home! Miss rest of IPL!

Flintoff has returned home half-way through the IPL Season 2 in South Africa. He has to undergo a surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee.

He represents Chennai Super Kings and played in all the three matches. Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen are the two players heavily paid.

So far, Flintoff did not contribute in any great way to the CSK. His figures were 1-44 agasint Mumbai and 0 for 50 against Delhi. He took 1-11 against Royal Challengers.

Overall, his bowling average is 52.5, picking just 2 wickets. He has an economy rate of 9.54.

His batting is little better and has an average of 31.

I am not sure whether it is for good or bad for CSK, but mostly good for CSK. The only advantage CSK had was the psychological factor where people respect Flintoff and worry about his scoring pattern. He can change the game at any time and bowl good tight spells. With the current form and records, it is good that he is going home.

It is expected that he will be out of action for 5-6 weeks and will miss the test series against West Indies. But he is expected to be back in action for the T20 World Cup and Ashes.
