Deciding to bat first, Suman, in place of Gibbs, opened the innings with Gilchrist. They added 21 for the first wicket before Gilly was unlukcy to be given out off Yusuf Pathan. The ball pitched outside the leg stump, but umpire thought otherwise.
Suman fell for 29 when board had 42, while Rohit last wicket for 9 at 70. Symonds who scored unbeaten half century in the previous match, was bowled by Jadeja for 30. DC touched 100 with a six from Vaas in 14.2 overs.
Dwayne Smith played an important innings and contributed valuable 47 off 32 balls with 4 sixes. DC scored 46 off the last 22 balls to set 167 as the target for RR.
Rajasthan lost Smith for 1 in the second over. Though Asnodkar stood at one end, wickets were lost in the other end. Chasing at 8 plus an over is always difficult. The team needs good start and partnerships.
The highest partnership 31 runs for the 4th wicket between Asnodkar and Yusuf Pathan. Asnodkar was run out while Pathan's magic did not work out in this match. Steeping down for a big hit, Ojha saw him coming down and piched the ball short on the off. Yusuf expected a ball to come faster, but it turned and stopped a little but forcing Yusuf to check his shot towards mid off where Smith took an easy catch.
Only three players reached double figure for RR--Asnodkar (44), N Ojha (16), and Jadeja (19*)
Rohit Sharma is becoming a good part-time bowler! He picked hat-trick earlier and now he picked 3 wickets including Warne bowled off the first ball he faced. He finished with 3 for 12 in his 3 overs. Dwyne Smith, who played a crucial part in DC's innings was declared man of the match.
