Preez picked Sachin in his first over 3rd delivery. Sachin went for the drive, the thick outside edge took the ball straight to Dravid at slip. Next delivery, he picked Rahane with the same delivery, same shot but caught by Uthappa.
In his next over, he picked the agressive Duminy who came down the track for a slog. The ball took the bottom edge on the way to the keeper. Earlier, Praveen started the first over of the innings with a maiden keeping the dangerous Jayasuriya quiet.
Bravo and Jayasuriya built the innings for MI. They took MI from 23 for 3 in 5.2 overs to 83 in 14 overs. Jayasuriya started the agression in the 8th over with a six and a four of Preez. The next two overs had one boundary and few singles to take MI to 53 for 3 in 10 overs.
Jayasuriya scored couple of boundaries in Kumble's over to move MI to 77 in 13 overs. Merwe picked Jayasuriya in his first ball caught at mid wicket by Vinay Kumar for 52, which came off 43 balls with 6 fours and a six.
Bravo and Nayar took the responsibility and completed the innings with a respectable 149 on board. Bravo went on to score unbeaten 50 off 40 balls with a four and 2 sixes. Nayar was unbeaten on 29 in 20 balls.
They added 66 in 35 balls to give a chance to MI bowlers to give a try at RC. In the 19th over, Merwe went 2 continuous sixes with the second one caught by Uthappa, but he could not balance his body, he fell on the boundary line.
The last ball of the innings was a no ball by Preez. Nayar was able to hit a single of free hit delivery.
Chasing 150 at 7.5 per over, Bangalore Royal Challengers chase it well. Though Jaffer went for 7, I should say that everything went according to RC's plan. It was their day.
Kallis took the responsibility as a senior player and handled Malinga, Zaheer and Bhajji well. Uthappa took played according to the situation and helped Kallis on the other hand. They both took RC to the winning total with an unbeaten 126-run partnership in 91 balls.
Sachin tried 7 bowlers including himself but nothing went in favor of him. Zaheer opened the bowling and went for 9 runs including 2 fours by Kallis. Bravo on the other end went for 12 runs. He also went for 2 fours one each by Jaffer and Kallis. Zaheer picked Jaffer caught by Nayar for 7 in his 2nd over. That's the only successful moment for MI durng their bowling.
Malinga was brought into attack in place of Bravo. Kallis hit the first ball using his pack to square leg for a six. The third ball went for a flat six clearing the infield over point. Uthappa, for his part, played off the pads to midwicket for a wonderful boundary.
Kallis was in firing mood today as he hit two more fours of Nayar to take RC to 51 in 5 overs. Malinga bowled brilliant maiden mixing his pace and slower deliveries restricting Uthappa. Things slowed down from that over as RC went to strategic break with 74 on the board.
Tendulkar tried his arm. He went for 6 in his first over but was punished in his second with three boundaries which made the equation easy. 43 from 36 balls.
Uthapp hit a huge six of Bravo and also scored a boundary in the last ball. Jayasuriya bowled the 18th over and went for 15 runs including a boundary and a six.
With 1 run required in 2 overs, Kallis scored the winning run. What an innings from Kallis! He was rightly given the man of the match award!
