Match 39: DD v. KKR: Usual Result, KKR bows down to DD!
In what looked like an aggressive start by KKR, they meakly surrendered to DD. McCullum, put into bat, started with a bang! Six over mid wicket of the very first ball of Nehra. But, the third ball, was unlucky for McCullum as he was given LBW of a delivery that would have missed the off stump. Poor McCullum!
Hodge went for a duck in the same first over caught by deVilliers. Wyk and Saha were the other two to get out for a duck.
Only Ganguly stayed and played sensibly. What else a person can do when the wickets were falling at one end with the balance overs coming down at the same time. Ganguly fell in the 17th over caught by Warner of Nannes for 44 which came off 45 balls that had 1 four and 2 sixes.
Agarkar helped KKR cross 100 with his quick knock. KKR touched 100 in 17.5 overs. KKR ended with 123 on the board. Agarkar was out on the last ball of the innings, scoring 39 off 29 balls.
DD had no problems in chasing such a simple target. Though Sehwag is still not available, Warner is filling his place accurately as a batsman and better as a fielder.
Gambhir and Warner added 53 for the first wicket. Gambhir lost his wicket to Henriques for 18. The next two wickets fell quickly with DD were 69 for 3 in 9 overs. deVilliers and Karthik did not panic as they took the team to the target.
Mishra was given the man of the match for his 3 wickets!

Match 37: CSK v. RR: Badrinath help CSK beat RR again!
In the second encounter between these two teams, CSK once again beat RR comfortably. Though Dhoni was disappointed losing the toss, he was happy with the match result.
Deciding to bat first, RR made 140 including 29 runs in the last 16 balls. Greame Smith was the top scorer with 30 off 33 balls. The other opener Naman Ojha was bowled in the third ball of the first over. Asnodkar and Smith put 53 runs for the 2nd wicket in 50 balls--a slow and steady innings. The RR last wickets at regular intervals after that.
The most dangerous batsman of RR, Yusuf Patha went for 7 in 11 balls. This might be one of the very few innings where his strike rate is less than 50!
Jakati and Muralitharan provided break through at right time to restrict RR. At the end of 10 overs, RR were 61 for 2 and added just 38 in the next 5 overs with the loss of 2 more wickets.
The last 5 overs saw 51 runs in which 29 runs came in the last 16 balls.
Dhoni termed the wicket as a spin track and had lot of turn. He said, from outside, it looked like easy to bat and easily won match, but it is not.
Though Vijay went for 10 runs in the last ball of the third over, the other opener and leading run scorer in 2009 Hayden stood his ground. This is one of his slow innings, which is understable.
Raina too failed with the bat adding just 13 runs. Then it was left to Hayden and Badrinath. The latter played with responsibility and played a vital role in CSK reaching the winning target with 10 balls remaining.
While Hayden missed the half-century by 2 runs, Badri remained not out on 59. Badri later said the tactics towards Warne was to play him out rather than trying to score big runs from his over.
Hayden and Badri added 89 runs 65 balls. Hayden came down the track of Warne but he bowled it too wide on the leg stump which Ojha collected it and removed the bails.
With new batsman Oram in the crease, CSK needed 15 in 19 balls. Badri's innings of 59 came in 41 balls with 9 fours and a six.
He was rightly given the man of the match!

IPL 2: Maiden Over Details!
Though it is a shortest version of the game in the current scheme of things, bowlers still show their talent with tight spells. Test cricket was over taken by ODI as far as the pace of the game is concerned, but with T20, it is all over the place.
Below are the details of bowlers who have bowled exceptionally well in containing the batsmen without scoring a run in an over.
Note: The details are available up to Match 57, Semi Final 1 played between DC and DD on May 22, 2009
